The 26-acre Lake O' Springs was created in 1920 on a tributary of Sippo Creek and was the inspiration for creation of the 155-acre Lake Cable to its south. Lake O' Springs served the community for 88 years as a private park for swimming fishing and other recreation until it closed in 2008. The lake is currently being developed with 25 single-family houses on its southwest side. Owners of these new homes in the development will belong to the Lake O' Springs Village Homeowners Association and will have recorded rights to use the lake.
