Bedford is a historic inner-ring suburb in southeastern Cuyahoga County with a 2024 population estimate of 12,834. Founded in 1837, Bedford is perhaps best known as the gateway to the stunning Bedford Reservation of Cleveland Metroparks, which includes Tinkers Creek Gorge — a National Natural Landmark — and beautiful waterfalls. The city hosts the nationally recognized Bedford Automile, a concentration of over 24 new and used auto dealerships that is a major regional commercial draw, as well as University Hospitals Bedford Medical Center and the historic Bedford Historical Society preserving the community's rich heritage. The Winking Lizard Tavern restaurant chain is headquartered in Bedford. The city is served by Bedford City Schools and hosts the beloved summer Parties in the Park and annual tree-lighting ceremony on its picturesque Town Square.
