Bowling Green is the county seat of Wood County. It has a population of about 30,000 people and is part of the Toledo metropolitan area. Bowling Green is also the home of Bowling Green State University, a public research university with over 17,000 students.

Some of the places of interest in Bowling Green include the historical downtown area, where you can find locally-owned shops and restaurants, the Black Swamp Arts Festival, an annual event that showcases local and national artists and musicians, and the National Construction Equipment Museum, which displays vintage steam-powered machinery. Bowling Green is also known for its environmental initiatives, such as hosting Ohio's first utility-sized wind farm with four turbines that are each 391 feet tall.
