Lakewood is a city in Cuyahoga County located on the southern shore of Lake Erie. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, it had a population of 50,104 in 2021, making it the third largest city in Cuyahoga County, behind Cleveland and Parma. Lakewood is home to a young and diverse population, including a significant number of immigrants. Its population density is the highest of any city in Ohio and is roughly comparable to that of Washington, D.C. Some of the places of interest in Lakewood are Lakewood Park, which offers a scenic view of the lake and a variety of recreational facilities; The Sanctuary Museum, which displays a collection of religious statues and artifacts; and Beck Center for the Arts, which hosts performances and exhibitions of music, theater, dance and visual arts. Some of the largest employers in Lakewood are Aladdin's, a restaurant chain that serves Mediterranean cuisine; University Tees, a custom apparel company that works with college organizations; and IMCD US, a distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients.
