Springfield is the county seat of Clark County. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the population of Springfield was 58,763 in 2021, which is a slight decrease from 2020. Some of the places of interest in Springfield include the Heritage Center of Clark County, which is a museum and cultural center housed in a former city hall building; the Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House, which is a restored Prairie-style house designed by the famous architect; and the Hartman Rock Garden, which is a folk art installation of over 250,000 stones arranged in various scenes. Some of the largest employers in Springfield are Navistar International, which is a manufacturer of trucks and buses; Assurant Specialty Property, which is an insurance company; and Mercy Health - Springfield Regional Medical Center, which is a hospital and health care provider.
