Wapakoneta, Ohio
Wapakoneta is a city in Auglaize County and the birthplace of Neil Armstrong, the first human to walk on the moon. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the population of Wapakoneta was 9,957 in 2020. Some of the places of interest in Wapakoneta include the Armstrong Air & Space Museum, which displays artifacts and exhibits related to the history of aviation and space exploration, the Temple of Tolerance, a unique rock garden and sculpture park created by Jim Bowsher, and the Auglaize Antique Mall, which offers a variety of antiques and collectibles in a large warehouse. Some of the largest employers in Wapakoneta are Crown Equipment Corporation, which manufactures forklifts and material handling equipment, Setex Inc., which produces automotive seats, and ContiTech, which makes rubber products.
