Willard is a city in southwestern Huron County with a population of about 6,164. The city has deep railroad roots: it was originally known as Chicago Junction, was renamed Willard in 1917 in honor of B&O Railroad president Daniel Willard, and became a city in 1960; today it serves as a key local center for schools, industry, rail activity, shopping, and services in western Huron County.
