Wood County is a northwest Ohio county centered on Bowling Green — home of Bowling Green State University (BGSU), a comprehensive university known nationally for its graduate programs in creative writing, education, and popular culture studies, as well as its successful BGSU Falcons athletics programs. The county also includes the communities of Perrysburg and Rossford — thriving suburbs of Toledo — which have attracted major corporate relocations and residential growth. Owens Corning — the global fiber glass and roofing materials manufacturer — has major operations in the county, and O-I Glass (Owens-Illinois) — the world's largest glass container manufacturer — was founded in Findlay and has operations throughout northwest Ohio.
